Police in Cheshire are targeting speeding motorists in response to calls from residents to tackle the problem.%0D%0A%0D%0APeople in Sandbach had been given the opportunity to vote for issues that should be police priorities at a recent resident%27s meeting attended by a number of officers.%0D%0A%0D%0AThey rated anti-social youths and speeding motorists as two of the main issues that needed to be addressed by the Sandbach Community Action Team.%0D%0A%0D%0ASergeant Philip Monks told the Crewe Chronicle%3A %22Speeding is now the main priority and nuisance youths will still be covered. %0D%0A%0D%0A%22We will use speed detection equipment and issue tickets where appropriate%22 he added.%0D%0A%0D%0ASgt Monks also said that speed awareness initiatives would also be launched including visiting schools to educate children.%0D%0A%0D%0AEarlier this week the government announced that neighbouring Lancashire would be part of a pilot scheme in which drivers pulled over for offences such as speeding will be fingerprinted at the scene.%0D%0A%0D%0AThis is intended to reduce the amount of time it takes to identify people as many often give a false identity or have to be arrested and taken back to the police station to have prints taken.%0D%0A%0D%0ALaw-breaking motorists contribute to higher car insurance quotes %u2013 search online and find a cheaper better value deal.%0D%0A%3Cbr /%3E%3Cbr /%3E%3Ca href%3D%22http%3A//www.adfero.co.uk%22 target%3D%22_blank%22%3E
