TRAFFIC JAMS ARE THE NEW DATING SCENE
So head for your nearest motorway this Valentine’s Day
If you are looking for true love this Valentine’s Day, a recent poll would suggest that you should head for the nearest traffic jam.
A recent poll conducted by leading online insurance broker, motorinsurance.co.uk, revealed that 1 in 5 of the UK population will flirt with drivers in nearby cars while stuck in traffic.
Furthermore, this survey revealed that 8% would go as far as winding the window down for a chat if they saw someone in a nearby car checking them out. And 3% had even been on dates after giving their phone number out whilst stuck in a traffic jam!
In fact, there are even dating websites designed to help match drivers who saw each other on the road and fancied each other. You enter the car registration number of the driver you saw, and if they have joined the dating website, your details are swapped.
Luckily for all you single folk, only 8% of those that took part in the poll claimed that they would never try to pick someone up whilst driving.
Paul Cosh, Managing Director for motorinsurance.co.uk, comments:
‘It might be fun to check out nearby drivers when you’re stuck in a traffic jam, but people still need to ensure that they are paying full attention to the road ahead’.
